Hello! Welcome to another episode of Fresh Bites (Feb 2017): Jakarta New Restaurants. Although February 2017 had at least two less days compared to the other months, that doesn’t mean it is slower in terms new F&B establishments in Jakarta & its surrounding areas. Twenty eight days, eight new places to dine, and we’re pretty sure there are one or two that we miss. Here we go.
1. Rock Paper Scissors
Often stylized as ROCK PAPR SCSR, Rock Paper Scissors Jakarta is a modern Japanese-influenced bistro that serves Yoshoku-style food, coffee, and cocktails. Beautiful place; smoking is allowed inside. Read our review here.
Address: The East Tower, Mega Kuningan (Ground Floor/Back Lobby)
2. Honu Poké & Matcha Bar
Hawaiian-stlye poké bowl seems to be appearing everywhere these days, but Honu Poké & Matcha Bar has got to be the first that specializes in it. The raw ingredients are a magnet for health food enthusiasts.
Address: Jl. Kemang Selatan Raya No. 125
3. Moreau Chocolatier’s Café
It’s time Jakarta has more places focusing in chocolate, and voila, Moreau Chocolate Café is here. Will they blow our socks off with chocolate prowess? Do they have finger lickin’ good chocolate dishes? We’ll see.
Address: Jl. Kemang Raya No. 93A
Grogol area seems to be a little behind when it comes to coffee and brunch, but not anymore. Slowly but surely, some places start to pop out, including Bottlenose. Besides the usual waffles, eggs, or croissant, Bottlenose also offers bao for snack time.
Address: Jl. Dr. Susilo No. 342, Grogol
5. The Hideout
There was nothing at Kelapa Gading in last month’s edition of Fresh Bites, but there is one in February! The Hideout pretty much covers everything you might need: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee.
Address: Jl. Raya Kelapa Hibrida Blok QH12 No. 5, Kelapa Gading
6. Heritage by Tan Goei
The iconic Tan Goei a.k.a Miranda restaurant in Menteng area might have closed a couple of years ago, but here it is, new and revamped. With classic Chinese and Peranakan cuisine like Stamppot and Bistik Lidah, Heritage by Tan Goei will surely attract customers from different age groups.
Address: Jl. Teuku Cik Ditiro No. 3, Menteng
7. Gaya Gelato Jakarta
Gaya Gelato Jakarta. We can never have enough gelato, and while another gelato place from Bali might seem redundant for some people, we can’t wait to have a taste.
Address: Crown Golf Boulevard Blok D No. 37, Jalan Marina Indah Raya, PIK
8. Gordi HQ
Gordi has been in the radar of many coffee enthusiasts thanks to their coffee subscription service. Just in time with their 1st anniversary, Gordi now opens their own café in Cilandak area.
Address: Jl. Jeruk Purut Dalam No. 25, Cilandak Timur
