Hiding right behind one of Jakarta’s busiest transportation hub, Terminal Grogol, Bottlenose Coffee offers a much needed break from the chaos around the area. With names such as Eatlah and Burgushi as housemates, the coffee shop rounds up the variety of offerings at PHX Grogol.
Bottlenose Coffee sits on the second and the third floor of the food container. The space is long and narrow, instead of wide. Random movements seem to trigger the occasional sound of metal clanks and unsteady feeling, something you won’t find at any other coffee shop.
The overall relaxed atmosphere of Bottlenose Coffee invites you to sit down a little bit longer. Following a cup of Cappuccino, perhaps one would be inclined to have tea, or even beer, depending on the clock. After all, the usual patrons seem to prefer wearing t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops, the universal sign of the word comfortable.
Regardless of your choice of beverage, food at Bottlenose Coffee is not something you’d want to miss. Comfort food such as sundae sandwich and pasta dishes are perfect for fuss-free days. There are everyone’s favorite Salted Egg Chicken Mini Bao for snack time, and dishes like Tomato & Cheese Bfast for hungrier times. Mind you, the latter dish is very cheesy, literally. Sharing is advisable, even when you’re a fan of cheese.
If your final question before deciding to go to Bottlenose Coffee or not is the quality of the coffee, we’ll give you another breadcrumb. The founder of Bottlenose used to work at Common Grounds Jakarta for 2 years, and all the beans used are also roasted by CG. Will I be back? Yes, when I’m around the area. Preferably sometime not in the afternoon, because it can get really hot despite the air conditioner.
