Do you know what Jakarta needs more than coffee shop? More gelato parlors. With the temperature reaching to more than 30 degrees Celsius these days, it’s the one food trend I don’t mind having until the end of eternity. This is why although many gelato places have been popping out all around Jakarta lately, I still get excited by new ones. Including Gaya Gelato PIK, fresh from Bali.
With the same white and pastel blue hues that also dominate their outlets in the Island of the Gods, Gaya Gelato feels cheerful. The space immediately injects positivity and brightness into your mood. A happy place, if I may say. Fitting for a cone of gelato in the middle of hot, humid PIK.
Despite all the beauty, Gaya Gelato PIK is more than physical attraction. They pay special attention to allergies, health, and lifestyle choices. Besides using premium quality natural ingredients with no added colorings and preservatives, they also label each flavor with dairy-free, gluten-free, eggs-free, or nut-free. Their crispy handmade cones are also free of eggs and dairy. Our pair of Lime and Fragola happen to be 100% vegan friendly and free of those four elements.
As a huge fan of everything citrusy, Gaya Gelato PIK’s Lime is a flavor I would order again and again. Light, refreshing, and tastes like a great glass of Es Jeruk Nipis. Simply divine. Honorable mention also goes to the eggs-free and gluten-free Peanut Butter & Salted Caramel—creamy and nutty!
Amongst other new gelato parlors in Jakarta, Gaya Gelato PIK definitely wins when it comes to informing customers about their products. It would’ve been better if the portion was bigger, especially considering the price. A small cone will cost you IDR 47K, more expensive and smaller in size when compared to their competitors. But hey, I’d happily pay for that Lime gelato again.
