Mendjangan Kemang: Resort-Style Escape Within The City

Kids Friendly Restaurants in Jakarta

What goes in your head whenever you hear the word resort? A getaway in the mountains or a trip to the beach usually come to mind, but pay a visit to Mendjangan Kemang and you might have another spot associated with that word. With everything it has to offer, Mendjangan carries the spirit of a relaxing resort holiday into one spot in the middle of the city.

First, let’s talk about the obvious feature: a swimming pool, complete with unicorn floaties. While the presence of a pool means that you have to be extra careful when bringing your children, it also means that you and your little ones can swim there if you wish. Many people have used this pool for different occasions, including a casual swim, kids birthday party, and during our visit, a video clip shoot. For personal use, swimming is free of charge with any food purchase.

Parents would also appreciate the availability of baby chairs—in the color of tosca green, the same color as the sofas—and a separate smoking room. It is interesting to note that the separate smoking room has a livelier atmosphere due to the presence of natural light and green plants, whereas the non-smoking area is lit with artificial lights. For this reason, don’t be too surprised when you see families with children who deliberately choose to sit in the smoking area.

As for food, Mendjangan Kemang serves a variety of Indonesian delicacies. Nasi Pepes Jambal is tasty with bits of salty jambal fish. Paired with a small bowl of sayur asem and chicken, it’s a dish every Indonesian food enthusiast would enjoy. Meanwhile, Sate Maranggi comes with juicy marinated beef, skewered and grilled until tender. To top things off, be sure not to miss Cowboy, Mendjangan’s signature drink that mixes coffee, milk, and chocolate with a touch of smokiness from smoking gun.

Whenever you are looking for a quick escape from your busy life, Mendjangan Kemang could be an easy option to go within the city. Come with your friends and family, or plan your next event there. Take a dip into the swimming pool, eat some tasty Indonesian food, and feel your battery slowly being recharged into 100%.
