A place where you can do a lot of things—including enjoying a cup of coffee and devouring a cone of gelato, which are muy importante—without having to move your car? The answer is just like what Anderson .Paak likes to sing: “Yes Lawd!”. Hello ShopHaus Menteng, you’ve just found a new regular.
Having passed the location numerous times long before its opening in early December, I strangely feel like a proud mama bear. First there was only an Opening Soon banner. Then there was some sort of construction going on. Suddenly, poof, there it is, all gorgeous and ready to serve customers.
Located at Jalan Teuku Cik Ditiro, the road that also houses Anomali Coffee and Bunga Rampai, ShopHaus attracts a more diverse crowd compared to its neighbors. It comes down to the variety and pick of tenants. In terms of food and service, they offer everything that people look for these days.

The rest? Namelaka’s various choux pastry and Gelato Secrets will sweeten your day. There is Mockingbird for heavier meals, plus Berrywell for post work-out sustenance. And in case of emergencies related to a bit of self-love, Everlash Lash Expert is ready to cater to the ladies, while The Roots is there for the gents. Hola, all your needs in one place. Case closed.
I expect more establishments similar to ShopHaus Menteng to pop out all across Jakarta in the future. Rent is expensive and it just seems to make more sense to collaborate instead of flying solo. We’ll see whether I’m right or not. By the way, do yourself a favor and try Gelato Secrets’ Coconut Pandan. Or Jasmine Tea. Or one of the jamu flavors!
