While Twin House Cipete is more like fraternal twin instead of identical twin, there’s no denying that this place is as adorable as baby human twins wearing matchy-matchy clothes. Two house structures with bright white and yellow hues are situated next to each other complete with a wide green backyard. The inside is adorned with artsy knick-knacks and photogenic corners worthy of being portrayed inside Ikea’s catalogue. Stinkin’ cute, to say the least.
The visual aspect makes Twin House Cipete an ideal spot for small events and gatherings. During our impromptu visit, almost all tables in one of the houses were booked, and the other house plus the whole garden were closed for a media gathering. Suffice to say, it is best to give them a ring and secure a table before your visit.
The kind of dishes served at Twin House Cipete is common café food. They serve a mix of Western fare—salad, brunch classics, and pasta, amongst others—and Asian favorites, such as Gyu Don and Nasi Goreng Kampoeng.
Monterey Chicken is a serving of tried-and-tested flavor combo of grilled chicken breast, beef bacon and mozzarella on top, with fries on the side. The dish is not too heavy on the palate because they go easy on the cheese, and it is served with refreshing tomato salsa. Meanwhile, Wild Mushroom Angel Hair has some memorable points like the earthy mushroom flavors and the large garlic bread, but the oiliness makes it hard to finish the whole plate without sharing. Both dishes are plentiful in size, and flavor profile is more on the saltier side.
While there is nothing revolutionary about the food, overall it tastes decent and would be a nice companion to your time at Twin House Cipete. After all, uncomplicated comfort food that would easily adapt to anyone’s tastebuds seldom goes wrong, especially ones sold at a fair price and comes with a generous portion. If you’re looking for a place to have a good time and to enjoy the ambience, Twin House is all that. But should you come just for the food? Probably no. With that in mind, I would definitely remember Twin House Cipete whenever someone asks me for any reference of a nice place for small events.
