What makes a food photography project interesting? I’d say the thrill that comes from photographing a novel object. In this case it is not entirely new, but a new way of seeing the old, the common, the ordinary.
Bekal Dari Ibu is a brand new concept in Jakarta that’s truly a labor of love in every sense. With a mission to share happiness through good ol’ Indonesian snacks that reminds us of motherly love, each pieces of Kue Cucur, Lalampa, Pisang Karamel, Risol, and many other childhood favorites are passionately crafted to ensure good taste and quality.
The business itself was born from the heartwarming story of childrens who want to make sure that their mother have a way to channel her love after the passing of their father. I just couldn’t wait to start shooting the very moment that I hear it. I mean who doesn’t want to take part in the act of love?
It is one of the most productive food photography session we’ve ever had. We brought the idea of presenting the traditional Indonesian snacks in a modern way. Our elevator pitch : “Think of Pisang Karamel ala Donna Hay.” I hope we did it justice. As for me, I love the shots so much that I use it almost every time in my food photography workshop. Not stopping at that, the food are actually good too. What could be better than a food photography session that gives you unlimited amount of pisang caramel at your disposal. Best!
Well, I hope you like the pictures too.
To close, friends, if you got an idea for a food photo that’s never been done before, don’t hesitate. Let us know. We’ll be more than happy to craft the concept, build the mood board, and bounce ideas to make your vision into reality.
