Fresh Bites—October 2017 : New Restaurant & Cafe in Jakarta

New Restaurant & Cafe in Jakarta

Greetings, Biters. How was your October? Had too much pumpkin, perhaps? We’re back with another edition of Fresh Bites: New Restaurant & Cafe in Jakarta. This month’s findings are very much Japanese-influenced, with more than half come directly from or are inspired by Japan. Without further ado, here we go!

1. BAKE Cheese Tart Indonesia
Japan’s OG cheese tart finally arrives in Jakarta. Double-baked crust and a filling made of four types of cheese? It’s the real deal. Read more about BAKE here.

Address: Grand Indonesia West Mall

2. Pardon My French
The wittily-named Pardon My French offers modern Japanese and French food, but not fusion. Everything from the food to the (seemingly) alcoholic giant teddy bear looks promising, and we can’t wait to try this one ourselves.

Address: Jl. Wahid Hasyim No. 154-156

3. Suasana Kopi
With its minimalistic exterior and a relatable Indonesian saying “Hati Hati Terbawa Suasana” on their plastic iced coffee lid, it’s inevitable that you’re gonna see this coffee stall here and there on your social media feed at least for the next few months.

Address: Kemang Utara No. 14

4. Sushi Matsu
Another new place in Jl. Wahid Hasyim opened in October: Sushi Matsu. Besides sushi, they also serve Gyudon, Chicken Katsu, and other varieties of Japanese food.

Address: Cemara Hotel, Jl. Wahid Hasyim No. 69

5. Amausaan Uji Matcha
Enthusiasts of everything matcha, this one is for you. Expect loads of matcha-based dessert options, including soft-serve ice cream and mille crepes cake.

Address: Central Park Mall LG Floor

6. Chateraise Indonesia
Chateraise has more than 470 stores in Japan and all across the world, and now it makes its mark in Jakarta. Fresh cakes, directly imported from Japan.

Address: Senayan City LG Floor

7. Jinbao
There’s always room for more comfort food. Jinbao presents modern Chinese food, with a selection of both savory and sweet bao as the highlight.

Address: Jl. Pantai Indah Utara 2, Ruko Galeri Metrobroadway 8/DE, PIK

So that is all for October 2017. We’ll see you next month for another recap of new restaurant & cafe in Jakarta.
