I believe that if you do good for the universe, it will love you back in ways you can’t imagine. Lately I’ve been enjoying sharing my years of experience on food photography to friends and the public. And just when I least expect it, after so many workshops, I was invited to do another at Ubud Food Festival.
It’s like the universe is saying “Hey, doing what you love is not enough. Let’s do what you love in the island of Gods.”
I took the chance right away and decided to arrive earlier. Why? Sofitel Nusa Dua was the reason why. I had been wanting to experience the magnifique hospitality ever since a few Instagram friends posted about it. Now is the perfect time. I spent a whole two days working remotely in the room and making the most of the facilities. These were the highlights of my stay.
Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.
The golden rule that I carry anywhere I stay in any hotel around the world. The bed has to be comfortable, otherwise it will nullify the other five star luxuries that you have in the room. Sofitel Nusa Dua passed on this test with flying colors. I have back pain problems that would make a cameo appearance whenever the bed sucks, but here I woke up fresh with no sign of fatigue whatsoever.
Best brunch in Bali
Sofitel has been selected as having the best brunch in Bali by Conde Nast and I couldn’t agree more. At IDR 399.000 ++, the selection of cuisine and treats that they serve are top notch at Cut Catch Cucina. Their main restaurant, Kwee Zeen, serves one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had too. Of course depending on your preference you’d have your own favorites, but for me their juice selection is excellent. You can pick your own fruits and veggies, create your own mix, and they’ll juice them right away. Fresh and vitamin rich.
Details, Details, Details
At the end of the day, when everyone has a similar standard of luxury, you differ yourself from the competition in the details. Sofitel Nusa Dua stands out for having a room with direct access to the pool. Yes, imagine the convenience of splashing into the water right at the back of your room, or the great view you have while workliday-ing in the room. Thumbs up also for their Lanvin toiletries and Club Millesime. You really get what you pay for. At Club Millesime you’ll have an exclusive lounge, bar, and private pool to enjoy. It was one my most ‘zen’ moments, reading and having tea time here.
Take time to indulge yourself with probably one of the best views overlooking the beach from the hotel’s lobby. Beautiful landscapes where green meets blue, my favorite combination of colors. Take a 5-min walk further down towards the ocean and you’ll find their beach club, a lovely spot for sunset watching.
There are simply too many things to note in one blogpost, but I hope I did it justice with the highlights above. But if you’re the lazy reader, here’s the experience in one line: It was so enjoyable, I ended up canceling cafe-hopping and chose to work from the comfort of their Luxury Pool Access room instead.
Thank you, universe for being so kind. Thank You! I can’t wait to see what’s more in store for me.
