Kanawa Coffee Senopati : Coffee Shop With Co-Working Space Soul

Do you belong to the same group of metropolitans as I do? Running your own business, commute extensively, move a lot around South & Central Jakarta, and always in the lookout for a convenient place to work but unwilling to commit to the monthly cost of co-working space? Well then, Kanawa Coffee Senopati is the answer to your prayer, our prayer.

It is strategically located along the culinary street of Senopati, spacious, comfortable with enough parking space, and most importantly, powered with high speed wi-fi. Can I hear an hallelujah?

Amen!

Alright, that’s enough dose of joke for a blogpost before it passes the line and becomes blasphemy. Now, let’s review the shit out of this place.

Folw Fam (IDR 63K). Poached egg, greens, ciabata bread.

Spacious & comfy cafe / workspace.

Food comes in just enough of options. Beside the usual suspects, coffee, tea, and light bites (cakes & crepes) they also serve heavier course meal. It is simplified into three categories: egg, beef, and pasta based. Depending on whatever you feel like having, there’s further two to three choices on each category. As I was under oath to eat healthier, Fowl Farm (IDR 63K) sounded about right. Poached eggs, pan-seared chicken breast, ciabatta bread, and hydroponic greens. It tasted clean, flavorful, with a gripping end of bitterness coming from arugula. I can definitely get used to this.

Coffee is brewed through the hands of ABCD School Of Coffee graduate. Sourced and roasted by Coffee Smith. Safe and trusted names here, but I have yet to check out the whole department. That morning, my glass of Flores Ice Americano (IDR30K) was exactly what I expected though. Fruity with just enough acidity and mid-tempo caffeine kick.

Surprising but sort of expected given all of the above and excellent service, in just an hour or so, Kanawa Coffee Senopati won my heart. Maybe I was lucky as it was Sunday morning, the place was half full, and the barista / owner was very friendly. However, I sure hope it is beyond luck and they can keep it consistent.

Much love. From a Northener who’s Qibla is headed South.
