Port Five Six Gading Serpong: Brunch at Its Best

Port Five Six

When beauty is only skin deep, it is enough to attract for a while. What truly counts is in the inside. Does it have the elements to make attraction progress into like, or even love?
Is Port Five Six more than a social media buzz and beautiful facade?
Yes, without a doubt.

I never thought that my first culinary venture to Gading Serpong would turn out to be one of the best brunches I’ve had in a while. Eggs Shinjuku (IDR 86K), for one. I swear my heart skipped a beat when the perfectly cooked salmon, miso hollandaise, and a touch of egg yolk made a happy dance in my mouth. Every single element plays an important role in this dish.

Port Five Six, your new favorite brunch place

Pork Five Six (IDR 96K) successfully ignited my lost love for pork after eating too much of it on Chinese New Year. Juicy pork belly, creamy eggs, a touch of bitterness from salad (arugula?), crunchy hash browns, and earthy mushroom. Please, can someone offer me a bowl full of those mushrooms with some of the fatty liquids that come out of the pork belly? I’ll be a very happy person.

Drinks

Two out of nine all-day brunch menus get a two-thumbs up from us. Perhaps it should be a no surprise, considering the brain behind Port Five Six’s food, William Gozali. Besides brunch, there are also six mains that are available only after noon, light meals like smoothies bowl, and small bites. And I haven’t even started with the drinks.

Can you feel the industrial/zen/Japanese vibes?

As always, coffee is present. Despite coffee not being the hero of the place, Port Five Six is pretty serious about it. The house blend is roasted by Coffee Smith, and the ever-popular La Marzocco machine is present. Amongst the usual coffee beverages, PBJ Affogato (IDR 28K) caught our eyes. Instead of vanilla ice cream, they use PBJ ice cream. The result? Nutty, creamy, bittersweet coffee. Major love.

This is one of those times when I feel glad visiting a newly opened establishment. Everything seems to be working well, the food is awesome, and it goes without saying that the place is beautiful. Please stick around for a long time Port Five Six, I’ll see you on my next venture to Gading Serpong.
