Sana Sini Pullman Thamrin certainly knows how to have fun, more so during this holy month of Ramadhan. There are so many things going on, we don’t know where to start.

Live music

Coming back to Sana Sini is always a pleasure

Perhaps from the folk sounds of Middle-Eastern music encouraging you to bob your head to the rhythm?
The souk slash bedouin tent-style decor, maybe?
Or the live Tanoura dance that leaves you somewhere between wanting to join the fun and dizzy from seeing too many whirls?
And don’t let me get started on the food. Oh, the food.

But here’s a bedouin tent

Considering the massiveness and food diversity of Sana Sini, it is surprising that Pullman’s staffs manage to squeeze an additional space dedicated to Lebanese food. Come sometime around 5 to 6 PM to watch the Lebanese Guest Chef Zein Rahhal and his team prepare a feast for you. The scene is hard to miss, since the makeshift area is placed near the entrance.

On the long table are rows of Middle Eastern fare such as Hummus, Lamb Ouzi (baked lamb), and Chicken Shawarma (chicken cooked on vertical rotisserie, served with various condiments). Honorable mentions go to the creamy, smokey, and slightly nutty Baba Ganoush, and another eggplant dish called Eggplant Mousaka. Those two will be an eye-opener for those of you normally averse to eggplant.

O sweet lord of dessert. Baklava!

Another crowd pleaser is a curry sauce lamb dish called Lamb Salona. The rich and flavorful curry is a wonderful companion to the fragrant rice, which is heavily spiced with cumin and turmeric. The lamb is very tender; it falls apart immediately between your teeth. After all those savory food, make sure to get a serving of sweet Baklava: layers of crispy filo pastry held together by honey.

But the experience extends far more than those tasty Lebanese food. You may opt to go crazier and enjoy more food at Sana Sini. Take your pick between fresh sashimi, chicken satay, dim sum, and many more. Feel free to eat until your tummy can’t take it anymore. No one’s judging.
