Ice cream has its way with me. I’m sure many of you can relate. It’s there on a hot sunny day to refresh. It’s there to tone down mood swings. It’s there to ease lonely days. In short, ice cream, gelato, or sorbet equals to a pint-ful of smile for me.
With so much love for chilly affair, it is almost a no-brainer to try out Alfero which was crowned as the best gelato cafe of the year in Singapore and South East Asia. Here you can find Italian gelato as it’s meant to be:
(1) Served at lower temperature (-11C) means fuller taste as it doesn’t numb down the tongue.
(2) Less fat content = less fat that coats the tongue = greater flavor and lower calories to burn
(3) Less incorporated air = more flavor per spoonful
I tried their Hazelnut for SGD 4.50 a cup and it was rich, creamy, almost too good to be true. It is subtle but you can definitely taste the difference compared to convenience store ice cream or Baskin Robbins for that matter.
Definitely a must try. I myself can’t wait to go back and taste more of their other flavors.
